*Maps to Help!*

All these Maps can be accquried in Asian Civilisation Museum.
I took some of the map that i think should be useful you guys as all of these actually shows you the different places and attraction that you can visit in singapore.

The map has many different verison of language. In Mandarin, English, Malay and even Tamil. These are also the 4 main language that Singapoean are most familiar with and is our 4 big races.

Asian Civilization Museum

Opposite Cavenagh Bridge, there is an Asian Civilization Museum.
As you can see from the name, it display the different artifact from China, Southeast Asia, West asia and south Asia.

Inside the Museum, there is an souvenir shop that sells many interesting souvenirs. There's an Singlish calendar that teaches you the different meaning of Singlish. There is also watches that have different era of Singapore.

This is just some of the works that is presented in the museum. There will be a series art work presented at different days of the year. You can just go in when you are free. Admission is free for Singaporean.

End of River

After touring around, you will come to the end of the river. Of course you can go further, and if you want to get to Marina Bay, there is an underpass in Fullerton Hotel that can bring you across the road.

The pictures above, shows the sights around Fullerton Hotel. Along the river, there are many other similar statutes that shows you how life was like in Singapore in the past, and how busy the port is.
This shows Cavenagh Bridge, one of the famous bridge that stayed with Singapore.
It was built in 1869 to help the traffic instead of crossing over using boat. Rickshaws and ox cart used this to cross over, but due to the flourishing trades, the bridges cannot handle the traffic and thus, Anderson Bridge was built to help ease the traffic. Now Cavenagh Bridge is a pedestrian bridge.
When you are tired from walking, there is an ice cream store just beside the bridge. They also sell beverages too!

Journey Along Singapore River 2

The different shot taken at Singapore River shows the development of Singapore especially when this place is important to Singapore as a port, now a Business district area.
People might think that the River might have a fishy smell, but due to the care taken by the relevant personnel, the river smell has been reduce to the minimun.
So, you do not have to worry especially when you are strolling beside the river with the slight breeze from the wind.
Apart from the Cruise ticketing booth, here is another one!
People also take shades in the booth as there is seats to stay away from the sun for a moment. As in the day, even though there are trees, the area can be quite humid and hot.

This is where the boat park, at different part of the river. Waiting for visitor to board.
The boat fetch you according to the routes you choose, but both shows you main attraction of Singapore and at the same time, beauty of Singapore. (In Which i will show you the map at the bottom.)

I wanted to take a picture with Sir Stamford Raffles, but due to the renovation going around at that timing, i had to take with him covered in net. :( But just in case that you guys might to have a look at the famous statutes.

I managed to find a picture on the net to show you guys.

*Understanding time* Sir Thomas Stamford Bingley Raffles was born in Jamaica 6 July 1781. He's landing in Singapore is on 28 January 1819. He wanted to sign a treaty that gave the British East India Company the right to set up a trading post in Singapore with Husain Shah and Temenggong Abdu'r Rahman. This changes Singapore as Singapore was only a small fishing village at that time with only 1000 inhabitants, but he changes it by bringing in trades. This is the map that the boat tour you around the Singapore River. Routes 1 brings you around the Raffles and Clarke Quay area, whereas Routes 2 brings you around Marina Bay.

Journey Along Singapore River

Singapore is around 3km (2 Miles) from Kim Seng Bridge to Marina Bay. Just so, our trip are all along the Singapore River.

*Intersting Facts* Mr Lee Kuan Yew actually tried fishing in the Singapore River because he wanted the river to be clean again and that it is safe for the fishes and also the citizen around the area.

-Which he did caught a pretty big one.-

In this pictures, you will see Elgin Bridge. Beside the bridge, you will see a bridge that links you from Clarke Quay to Raffles. This is to ensure that you do not have to cross the road and the tunnel is quite cooling while you are walking down.

Inside the tunnel, there are many different painting done by students, organisation. Every now and then they will be different arts presented to the public. They are also many underpass painting that you can find in the area.

The Sponsor and organisation that painted this.

This will the place where all the ministers and political leaders gather to discuss about the national affairs, Parliment House. There are guards everywhere near the building, thus giving the serious mood along the river which has many entertainment facilities.

Outside of Clarke Quay

Once you step out of Clarke Quay, you can cross the Read Bridge to get to the opposite side. The opposite side is where all the Bar, Restaurant and Fun lies.
<-- This map shows the overview of Clarke Quay and what are the shop that you can find here.
There are many Cruise and Boat booth along the Singapore river, so if you are worrying about not finding any booth to buy your tickets! FEAR NOT.

I didn't managed to capture the night view of Read Bridge at night, but it look amazing at night, so if you are going to Clarke Quay at night you can enjoy the night scenery with the beautiful lights.

The picture below are all the Eatery and Bar
that are available to you. Majority of the shop are opened at night as many come down for the alcohol and other different cuisine. So the atmosphere at night is much more livier as compared to the day.

Of course there are shops opened in the day. But many would prefer to sit by the river or patronage the shop to enjoy the live band performed by local artist at night as they say, "The night is still young!"
The shop that opened at night mostly starts at around 6.30pm and end as late as 1am on weekdays and 3.30am on weekends. Some even stayed as late as 5am in the morning. So Clarke Quay is definitely a place for Night Owls to be at.

This Few picture would shows the famous G-MAX bungee which is the first in Singapore, which opened in November 2003. it has attracted tons of people when it first opened. As it not only is an exciting rides, it is also placed in the middle of Clarke Quay, where the visitors can actually see the whole landscape of Clarke Quay in a thrilling manner.

What i like about the staff is that they are thoughtful enought to out an umbrella above the rides just so that the customer do not need to sit on the hot seat where the heat of the sun is at its peak.

This video shows how the the bungee works in the day. ENJOY!
